RYANSQL: Recursively Applying Sketch-based Slot Fillings for Complex Text-to-SQL in Cross-Domain Databases

Abstract Text-to-SQL is the problem of converting a user question into an SQL query, when and database are given. In this article, we present neural network approach called RYANSQL (Recursively Yielding Annotation Network for SQL) to solve complex tasks cross-domain databases. Statement Position Code (SPC) defined transform nested query set non-nested SELECT statements; sketch-based slot filling proposed synthesize each statement its corresponding SPC. Additionally, two input manipulation methods presented improve generation performance further. achieved competitive result 58.2% accuracy on challenging Spider benchmark. At time submission (April 2020), v2, variant original RYANSQL, positioned at 3rd place among all systems 1st not using content with 60.6% exact matching accuracy.
